We Offer a Range of Services to Meet All Project Needs
Major Projects
FPCG’s major projects team handles all fire protection engineering and code consulting projects that do not currently fall under another division. Primarily, this team specializes in higher education, healthcare, high-rise buildings, and state- and municipal-government-funded projects requiring a high degree of design and coordination efforts. Similarly, projects requiring smoke control system design, fire modeling, and performance-based designs are also handled by the major projects team.

Major projects are managed by dedicated project managers led by Gilead Ziemba. This structure enables project management and design efforts to be handled concurrently, thereby expediting the completion of complex design projects without compromising critical coordination efforts. By providing a more simplified and effective communication path, we ensure seamless collaboration with our clients.

General Services
FPCG’s general services team handles all fire protection engineering and code consulting projects that generally are fast turn-around, smaller, and therefore require immediate attention by a dedicated team.

Primarily, this team specializes in fire hydrant flow testing, automatic fire sprinkler and underground fire water distribution hydraulic calculations, building and life safety code pre-construction administration and consulting, fire sprinkler and fire alarm system assessments, occupancy classification letter (OCL) services, hazardous materials consulting, through-penetration firestop inspections, AHJ representation and 3rd party plan reviews, and NFPA 1142 tank sizing and design.

Code Consulting
FPCG offers a full range of code consulting services designed to support safe, compliant, and cost-effective projects.
Our team provides building and fire code plan reviews and analyses, along with the development of detailed fire and life safety plans. We perform building and fire code inspections, hazardous materials evaluations, and prepare hazardous materials inventory statements. Our expertise also includes high-piled and commodity storage letters, facilities assessments with cost and budget opinions, and assistance with code modification requests or alternative methods of compliance. For complex projects, we also deliver performance-based designs that balance innovation with safety and compliance.

Low Voltage
Fire Protection Consulting Group (FPCG) is a leader in the design of emerging technologies for fire protection and life-safety systems. Our low-voltage team specializes in engineering consulting, construction document development, and field services for fire alarm, two-way communication, and emergency responder communication enhancement systems (ERCES).

Our licensed professionals perform radio signal strength surveys, iBwave modeling, fire alarm system evaluations (new and existing), low-voltage system designs, and final acceptance testing. We also coordinate directly with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to ensure compliance while preparing plans and specifications for contractor bidding.

This comprehensive approach provides clients with clear guidance on local code requirements. It ensures that the necessary infrastructure is incorporated early in the design process, minimizing delays and preventing unnecessary costs from over-engineering or late-stage changes.
